The Art of Whimsy is the stomping solo project of Nathan J. Emmans, the former lead singer, guitarist and songwriter for the critically acclaimed Southern California Indie jam-band, Soapbox Symphony. This rowdy rendition is best described as a rootsy-organic-folk-rock experience; A memorable collision of foot-stomping grooves and meaningful melodies.

Although he's played under the pseudonym, The Art Of Whimsy, only since 2007, Nathan has been performing his prolific catalogue of original music all across America for the past thirteen years. In 2011, Nathan finished producing and recording the rowdy folk-rock project, Flight Of Fancy, his fourth full length album and a mixture of Americana roots music. His music has been featured in independent films for the LA Film School; and, most recently, five of his songs were featured in the award winning surf photography documentary, Fiberglass and Megapixels. The latter was nominated for best original soundtrack at several International Film Festivals.

Wandering around the United States, performing his original music in every smokey venue and flea-ridden-folk-festival that'll have him, has given Nathan the opportunity to share the stage with world-class, award winning artists such as John Cruz, Tommy Emmanuel, Antsy McClain, Pauly Zarb, Anthony Snape, Rick Price, James Dean Hicks, and Pat Kirtley.

For The past two years, The Art Of Whimsy has been holed up on a tiny rock out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, calling Honolulu, Hawaii his home base. Using his soul-stirring synergy of earthy, acoustic instruments, lyrical poety and stomping grooves, The Art Of Whimsy has never tried to reinvent the wheel, he's just trying to entertain and inspire with his songs that retell the age-old story of the human drama: Faith, hope, and love in the struggle to be.

Of late, The Art Of Whimsy has been writing, touring, and playing with a talented self-taught violin player named Casey, Rodriquez.
